Los Ángeles, Estados Unidos.- Esta noche se llevó a cabo la 44 edición de los American Music Awards (AMA’s) , evento que galardona a los artistas y las producciones más aclamadas por los fans en 2016. También se basan en los registros de ventas de álbumes y canciones digitales, emisiones de radio y en «streaming» medidos por la publicación Billboard y sus socios Nielsen Music y Next Big Sound.
Sin embargo, los ganadores de estos galardones son elegidos,mediante votaciones, las cuales se realizaron desde el portal de los American Music Awards, así como por las redes sociales.
El Microsoft Theater de Los Ángeles fue el escenario al que fueron llegando cada uno de los artistas invitados y nominados con sus mejores looks.
El rapero canadiense Drake partió como máximo favorito con 13 nominaciones, seguido por Rihanna, con siete candidaturas, y Justin Bieber, con cinco.
