En un tuit, Trump atacó a los demócratas que criticaron el despido de Comey, informó Milenio.
Los demócratas «dijeron algunas de las peores cosas sobre James Comey, incluso que debería ser despedido, ¡pero ahora fingen estar tan tristes!»

Posteriormente, el mandatario estadunidense dijo que Comey ha «perdido la confianza de casi todos en Washington, tanto republicanos como demócratas». Añadió que «cuando las cosas se tranquilicen, ¡me lo agradecerán!»
